Table Insights
Extracted from rolling tables above.
Strongest
SD Fade
FADE: The San Diego bullpen has been a mess lately, ranking 29th in the league over the past week with an ERA near 9. They have been giving up runs at an alarming rate and things have not improved over the past two weeks either. Avoid backing San Diego when the game gets to their relievers.
WSH Value
VALUE: The Washington bullpen has been the best in baseball this past week, posting an ERA under 1. They have been sharp despite facing a tough schedule, which makes it even more impressive. Back Washington in close games where their relievers are likely to see action.
BAL Fade
FADE: Baltimore's bullpen has been struggling over the past two weeks, ranking in the bottom half of the league despite facing an easier schedule. They are letting runs in at a high clip and have not been getting the job done in relief. Avoid the Orioles in games where they will need their pen to hold a lead.
BOS Fade
FADE: Boston's bullpen numbers look decent on the surface, but the team has been losing momentum and trending in the wrong direction lately. Their recent results look better than how they have actually been pitching, so things could get shakier soon. Be cautious backing the Red Sox bullpen going forward.
CHC Value
VALUE: The Cubs starting pitchers have been quietly solid, ranking 6th in baseball over the past week and staying consistent over the past month. They are keeping runners off base and have been pitching better than their run-allowed numbers suggest. Back Chicago when one of their starters is on the mound this week.
LAD Fade
FADE: The Dodgers rotation has been on a big downswing lately, losing momentum and ranking 25th in the league over the past week. Their starters have actually been pitching worse than their ERA shows, which is a warning sign. Avoid backing Los Angeles based on their starting pitching right now.
MIN Fade
FADE: Minnesota's starters have been one of the worst units in baseball recently, ranking 26th this week and 29th over the past two weeks. They are struggling to get hitters out and the trend has been moving in the wrong direction. Fade the Twins when looking at games built around their starting pitching.
NYY Fade
FADE: The Yankees rotation looks good on paper lately, but they have been pitching better than their true performance suggests and the momentum is heading downward. Their numbers over the past two weeks have been strong, but they are due to come back to earth soon. Be careful trusting New York's starters at full value right now.
CHC Fade
FADE: The Cubs offense has been underperforming lately, scoring fewer than 5 runs a game and ranking below average in overall production. Their lineup has been trending down recently despite a decent ranking over the past month. Fade Chicago when counting on their bats to carry a game.
COL Value
VALUE: Colorado's lineup has been picking up steam lately, scoring nearly 5 runs a game and ranking 8th in the league this past week. They have been one of the more productive offenses recently and the momentum is pointing up. Keep an eye on the Rockies bats and consider backing them when the matchup is right.
