Strongest
KC Fade
FADE: The Kansas City bullpen has been one of the worst in baseball over the last week, posting an ERA near 8.79 and ranking dead last. Even zooming out to the last month, they still rank in the bottom quarter of the league. This relief group is a liability right now.
TB Fade
FADE: Tampa Bay's bullpen looks better on the surface than it actually is. Their recent ERA of 3.68 is masking the fact that their pitchers have been much shakier when you look at how hard hitters are actually connecting. The pen has been trending in the wrong direction over the last two weeks.
ARI Fade
FADE: Arizona's bullpen has been better than expected recently, but the results look a bit better than the actual pitching has been. Their save rate is also just 60%, meaning they've been blowing leads in close games. The pen's recent performance is hard to trust going forward.
MIN Value
VALUE: The Minnesota bullpen has been almost untouchable over the last two weeks, ranking 2nd in the league this week and 3rd over the past 14 days. They've converted every save opportunity recently and have been keeping runners off base consistently. This is a relief group that is genuinely pitching at an elite level right now.
ATL Fade
FADE: Atlanta's starters have put up a nice ERA lately, but the way they've been pitching suggests some luck has been involved. Their numbers over the last week rank only 25th in the league, and momentum is pointing downward. Expect the rotation results to get a little bumpier going forward.
COL Value
VALUE: Colorado's starters have been getting roughed up, but the runs they've allowed don't fully reflect how they've actually been pitching. They've faced a tough schedule and their week-over-week numbers are better than the big picture suggests. This could be a situation where the rotation bounces back sooner than people expect.
CWS Value
VALUE: The Chicago White Sox rotation has quietly been one of the better groups in baseball over the last two weeks, ranking 8th or better in both recent windows. They've been doing it against tough competition, which makes it even more notable. This staff is pitching better than their reputation suggests.
NYM Fade
FADE: New York's starting pitchers have been struggling badly, with an ERA over 6.50 in the last week and ranking 23rd in the league. They've been giving up too many baserunners, sitting at a WHIP of 1.646. The rotation has been sliding for a while and there's no clear sign of a turnaround yet.
ATH Fade
FADE: The Athletics offense has been one of the weaker groups in the league, scoring fewer than 3 runs per game recently. Their OPS of .724 and a below-average production score tell the same story. This lineup is not generating enough to win games consistently.
BOS Value
VALUE: Boston's offense has been quietly picking up steam, scoring 4.6 runs per game recently while their momentum is trending sharply upward. Their lineup is producing at an above-average rate even though their OPS doesn't scream it yet. This is a group that is starting to click and could be generating more wins than people realize.
